AIAXact Large Format

 Repro Workstation

MODEL AIAXact 4060DV

The AIAXact 4060 DV is custom made in the UK to AIA specifications by one of the world's leading manufactures of professional photographic enlargers and reprography equipment.  The AIAXact 4060 DV represents state of the art in technology, ergonomic design, and is totally automated for maximum productivity for handling and scanning oversized art.

The column is a lead screw driven, progressive variable speed, and extra heavy and wide. The Repro Camera sits precisely parallel to the copy board bellow. A 4X5" spring loaded ground glass back with fresnel screen also holds a permanent slide tray which automatically inserts and removes the digital scan back. A large mirror sits over the ground glass to reflect the image on the glass making focusing easier when the camera is positioned high on the rail.

The front and back standards of the Repro Camera are motorized (controlled remotely) allowing for smooth fast and accurate automated focusing. Fine focusing is achieved by using the remote control to maximize the the screen display of the cameras software (in this case that of the Betterlight)

11 separately controlled leveling mechanisms precisely support the working base. Each lever is individually adjustable.

The working base is a 42" 64" vacuum self masking vacuum easel with steel top*. The self masking technology and muffled pump box makes operation as ergonomic as possible. A foot peddle controls on and of, and a set of extra long magnets are also supplied. A white lever just under the working base assembly allows the operator to lower the base to 14" or raise it up to 36" in incremental steps. Heavy springs make this action possible with just 2 fingers, and it enables a faster and more ergonomic loading, positing and shooting sequence, as well as offering more versatility without having to invest in multiple lenses.

The entire system utilizes the finest lenses available from Rodenstck and Schneider. All lenses are AOP.

The AIAXact 4060DV is pictured here in operation at Penn. State University Library in University Park, PA.

* Base sizes smaller and larger can be manufactured to order. The unit is also available with a wall mounted column with or without motorized camera.
