Digitally Capturing The Gigantic
AIA introduced the Metis 1015 System for those who have to digitize huge maps, charts, murals, tapestries that exceed the power of even 4X5 line scanners. The Metis 1015 will in one continuous scan capture and produce a pixel to pixel reproduction of sizes as large as 100 square meters and produce TIFF files up 4.3 GBs. The Metis 1015 eliminates the cost and possible errors of hand tiling or stitching multiple scans, and includes a special easel for holding large flat art, HMI lighting, and software that makes handling and sending large files easy.
